LEN PIERRO

I enjoy writing for big bands, horn sections and small ensembles.  I studied privately with Bob Parini, Bill Zaccagni , Marion Evans and Andy Farber.  I have been participating in the  internationally acclaimed BMI Jazz Composers Workshop since September 2018.  I’ve written many arrangements for small groups as part of their live shows and recordings.  I’ve also written arrangements and compositions for big bands, some of which have been recorded and are available for purchase.  Writing offers me the opportunity to express my musical ideas at a pace that accommodates attention to detail and I enjoy the process.  In 2013 I recorded a big band project that consisted of four of my arrangements performed by some of Philadelphia’s finest musicians.  If you would like a copy, email me, and I’ll send you a CD.  A full-length recording of my big band writing has just been released and is available here.
